Woodland Card Deck
For this my goal was to create a fun and playable deck of cards featuring woodland creatures like bears, bugs, and more. I wanted to capture the beauty of these animals in a fun and captivating way that would spark joy in card players and collectors. I wanted to create a deck that both engaged players with the game and the fantastical world of the woodlands.
I felt that the animals were the heart of this project so I focused heavily on their design.
I wanted these illustrations to be cute and
eye-catching. Each animal went through several rounds of edits and critique to ensure that they both stood out and worked with the other elements of the cards.
For the back of each card I wanted to create a design that was visually interesting, but didn't detract from the fronts of the cards. I used a muted color palette and repeating pattern to create a subtle yet beautiful illustration that complimented the illustrations on the cards.
For the box I wanted to bring together all the elements from the cards in a cohesive and recognizable way. By using a unified color palette and incorporating key design elements from the cards I created a box that works as a frame for the cards.
